STUDY OF EXPANSION OF
LIQUID
Aim
: To note the change in level of
liquid in a container on heating and interpret the observations.
scale,
Apparatus : Volume dilatometer, liquid,
water bath , thermometer, burner.
Diagram:
Procedure :
Take a volume dilatometer.
Fill it with a water which
is at room temperature upto its lowest mark, & close it.
Note down the room
temperature with a thermometer
Immerse the bulb of the
dilatometer in a water bath.
Heat the water bath upto
70°C.
Note down the level of
water mark now.
Determine the change in
level of water. Take the reading in the given table.
Again repeat the experiment
and Heat the water bath upto 80°C & then to 90°C, determine the change in
the level of water in each case.
